Ambrettolide is a rich but delicate animallic musk used in traces (from 0.01%) in all types where it adds diffusion warmth roundness. If overused it may suppress top notes. An excellent blender-fixative. Note: many are anosmic to, i.e. unable to smell, ambrettolide

The odour and uses of Ambrettolide
Odour=> natural-musk ambrette-seed rich and extremely tenacious floral-musky sweet odour. Ambrettolide is used at 0.01% or less in alcoholic solutions to help soften the alcohol odour leaving a faint floral-musky sweet and pleasant odour.
